Third Day Leads Worship for Drivers at Nascar Coca-Cola 600 In Charlotte, NC

(Charlotte, NC) June 4, 2006 - On Sunday, May 28th, multi-platinum-selling, GRAMMY and Dove Award winning rock band, Third Day led worship for the drivers chapel service at NASCAR's Nextel Cup Coca-Cola 600 in Concord, NC.

Motor Racing Outreach (MRO), the chaplain program serving the racing community, invited the band to lead the worship service that was attended by several drivers, crew members and their families, just prior to the 400-lap race held at the prestigious Lowes Motor Speedway. The service was broadcast to the NASCAR racing community on Fox Sports via Direct TV.

Following the service, the band was presented with an official NASCAR racing helmet autographed by all current drivers on the Nextel Cup circuit.

Earlier this year Third Day received its fourth consecutive GRAMMY nod for its Live Wire CD, and completed the Spring leg of its "Wherever You Are Tour" selling out theaters and arenas all over the country. Over the past decade, Third Day has amassed 22 #1 radio singles and sold almost six million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and five Gold records.

The band has garnered 24 career Dove Awards, two GRAMMY Awards (from six nominations), two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, developed an historic partnership with Chevrolet, and developed a touring record second to none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions. In addition to these many accolades, the band is most proud of their humanitarian efforts that include raising nearly $200,000 for the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and encouraging over 15,000 fans to sponsor children across the globe through the work of World Vision.
