Third Day Racks Up Numerous Nominations
For Gospel Music Awards
Grammy-Winning Group Receives Five Nods

(Nashville, Tenn.) February 2, 2006 - Nominations were announced yesterday for the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards by the Gospel Music Association (GMA). Platinum-selling, GRAMMY and Dove award winning rock band Third Day received a total of five nominations in various categories, and individual group members are recognized as writers of "Cry Out To Jesus," nominated for the prestigious Song of the Year award. The ever-popular rock band from Atlanta received nods in the Rock/Contemporary Album category for Wherever You Are and for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song for the project's lead single "Cry Out To Jesus."

The band also received a nomination for Long Form Music Video for its Live Wire concert video, and two nominations in the Special Event Album category for contributions to Come Let Us Adore Him and WoW Christmas Green. Additionally, each band member received individual nominations for songwriting and production for each of the previously mentioned Song and Album categories. Group member Mark Lee was also recognized as a writer on "Strong Tower," nominated for Worship Song and recorded by Kutless.

The band recently received its fourth consecutive GRAMMY nomination for the Live Wire CD, this on the heels of winning its second GRAMMY Award at last year's ceremonies. Over the past decade, Third Day has amassed 22 No.1 radio singles and sold more than five million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and five Gold records. They have garnered 23 career Dove Awards, two Grammy Awards (from five nominations), two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, performed at the Republican National Convention, developed an historic partnership with Chevrolet, and developed a touring record second to none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions.

The GMA Music Awards show will be presented on April 5, 2006 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The awards show will then be televised in national syndication April 15 to May 1, 2006.
