Radio Listeners Make Third Day #1 Across The Board

(Nashville, Tenn.) December 15, 2005 - Radio stations, retailers and fans alike can't seem to get enough of veteran rock band Third Day, as "Cry Out To Jesus," the debut single from the group's eighth full-length project Wherever You Are, has ascended to the top of every Christian music radio format chart.

"Cry Out To Jesus" was added to many major radio station play lists in heavy rotation at the end of August after radio promoters heard early clips, and is now being used as anchor music for various hurricane relief effort campaigns due to its fitting message of hope. Since then, it's climbed to No. 1 (and in many cases stayed there for a considerable amount of time) on the industry's most respected charts:

Billboard

  • #1 Hot Christian Adult Contemporary
  • #1 Hot Christian Songs

    Christian Radio Weekly

  • #1 AC (3 weeks - not consecutive)
  • #1 INSPO (2 weeks)
  • #2 CHR

    Radio & Records

  • #1 CHR
  • #1 AC-Indicator (7 consecutive weeks)

Additionally, Wherever You Are debuted on The Billboard 200 album chart in November at number eight, with street week sales of more than 63,000 units. The 12-song CD package for Wherever You Are offers fans three different themed album covers (two as limited editions) plus a free-with-purchase bonus CD.

Third Day has amassed 22 #1 radio singles, sales of more than five million albums, 23 Dove Awards, two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award nod, and a performance at the 2004 Republican National Convention. They have developed a groundbreaking partnership with Chevrolet and are known world wide for a riveting live show and sold-out tours.

Maintaining a passion for helping those in need, Third Day supports Habitat for Humanity, DATA and World Vision's Hope Child initiative and have been covered by media outlets including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, NBC Nightly News, ABC News Nightline, 60 Minutes, Anderson Cooper 360, CNN Headline News, Hannity & Colmes, Weekend Live with Tony Snow, Your World with Neal Cavuto, The Boston Globe, USA Today, the LA Times and Newsweek.
