Jeremy Camp
Carried Me: The Worship Project
Jeremy Camp comes at us again with his Sophmore release "Carried Me: The Worship Project" this February 10th. I being the someone who was shipped a copy of this album decided to give my two cents on this album.
First off let me say that Jeremy Camp is a supurb artist. I mean how often do you hear of an artist who is just releasing his second album already headling his own tour? It doesn't happen often people. I mean the first album rocked, "Carried Me: The Worship Project" brings Jeremy to a whole new level in his music. Carried Me is a project that portrays what Camp & Co. have always done in their live shows, as many of you already know, which is bring together people for worship. No one will be disappointed by this album. Thius thoughtful collection of original songs, several written by Jeremy himself, and reworked standards you will all be be familar with.
"The songs are ones that have meants o much to me in my life. Each of them has a special place in my heart because I remember singing them at different times, good times and hard times." Jeremy explains. Those songs include album opener "Trust in You," an older song that many artists might have easily passed over. But Jeremy connected to its powerful message and decided to add his own floavor to it, giving it a welcome rock-infused update.
While the songes come from a variety of sources, Jeremy's delivery neatly ties them all together, "I'm a very passionate, outgoing person, so when I'm singing I love to belt it out. That's part of my expression." That attitude carries over to his take on worship, "When I do a worship song," he explains, "I want to make it very full to compliemnt my voice...and my heart. This is me-BOOM!-worshipping God."
"We've played in almost every state and I've been able to share the Gospel with people from different walks of life and see them touched by my testimony and what God has done. When you see people coming forward and accepting Christ, you realize this is what it's all about. I love singing and playing, but if I'm not sharing about Jesus, then I know I'm playing in vain."
Overall, Jeremy Camp's new album is pure a simple worship to God with Jeremy's twist on it. Now from my point of view what you are probably asking yourself is this, "Is buying this album worth my $15 to buy it?" Well the answer is a resounding YES. With genuine emotion packed into each song and a heart that seeks to follow God's calling in his life Jeremy Camp's "Carried Me: The Worship Project" is worth every cent you pay for it and will surely be a long remembered album for the future.
