JACI VELASQUEZ IS BACK WITH SOME HOLIDAY CHEER

New York, NY – September 13, 2007 – A’postrophe Records artist Jaci Velasquez announced today that she will be releasing a 3 track Christmas/New Year’s EP titled Open House on October 30th.

This EP includes 1 well-known popular Christmas song “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,” 1 original Christmas song titled “Quiet Christmas Night” and also Velasquez sings a version of “Auld Lang Syne” which is the song that everyone hears at New Year’s. Many people know the melody and I’m sure we are all guilty of trying to sing it, but many people don’t know the words or message behind the song. The Scottish song is generally credited to a man named Robert Burns, but earlier versions of this ballad precede his time. The song reminisces about friendships of long ago and good memories. Jaci’s version eloquently expresses these thoughts. Need help remembering it? Here is the first line that should help: “Should auld acquaintance be forgot?”

Velasquez states, “I haven’t released a Christmas album since 2001 and with so many great things happening in my life - a husband I love and a new baby on the way - I thought of no better way to celebrate my favorite holiday that to share a few of my favorite Christmas songs!”
