Brock Gill Captivates Record Crowd at Freedom Experience Event Featuring X-Games Star Corey Martinez and Free-stylist Tim Byrne
(Nashville, TN) February 19, 2006 - More than 6,000 people attended over three nights of Freedom Experience (FX) featuring daring illusionist Brock Gill in Harlan, Kentucky. The event, designed for teenagers, drew entire families from all over the area. Due to the strong turnout, additional seats had to be opened up as the room was filled 360 degrees around the stage. It was the largest event to date for the Freedom Experience.
"The Freedom Experience put on by Vertical Ministries far outweighed my expectations," says Craig Garland, Harlan FX coordinator. "I never imagined what an impact it would have on our entire community. We reached the students of every corner of our county. All the performers were exceptional, especially Brock Gill who won a hearing with the students and then won many of their hearts for the Lord."
Joining the Harlan FX as a guest of the bike team was BMX freestyle competitor from the X-Games, Corey Martinez. "Brock's tricks were mind-blowing. I was like, 'how'd he do that?'" says Martinez. "Seeing what he does on stage, and how he effectively ties it back into ministry was impressive."
Also featured was Tim Byrne, one of the world’s best freestyle skateboarders. Known as an innovator in freestyle flatland, Tim has skated freestyle for the past five years in front of millions, traveling and doing well over 200 dates a year. Tim is also a Christian speaker/evangelist.
During the FX event held in Springfield, IL, Brock debuted his Bullet Catch illusion. "I can't say enough about the impact of FX on a city," said Charles Campbell, Director of Family Evangelism and Discipleship Ministries of the Illinois Baptist State Association.
"I have worked with Vertical to bring Brock to Illinois three times with FX and every time we see lives changed and whole cities impacted."
The next FX event will be held April 10-12 in New Castle, KY.
Creative evangelism for a post-modern generation, FX is a free, multi-day event with dramatic stunts, amazing illusions, loud music and death-defying escapes. Performing at public school assemblies during the day, Brock and the other FX artists and performers share with students about a number of different topics ranging from peer pressure and choosing good friends to avoiding drugs and alcohol and following one’s dreams. More information can be found at www.freedomexperience.com.
During these public assemblies, the FX team invites students to evening performances where they perform their most intense stunts and share personal testimonies.
