ANTHONY EVANS set to rally for "National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative" in D.C.
EVANS joins Fellow Artists tR Fecord "THE MESSAGE" AUDIO BIBLE
Nashville, TN - May 10, 2006 - Following a successful rally in Houston, INO Recording Artist, Anthony Evans, along with his father Dr. Tony Evans, is set to rally once again in Washington, D.C. on May 15th, for the "National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative." Endorsed by President George W. Bush, Dr. Evans created this initiative in hopes to rebuild communities by bringing together two key institutions, churches and schools.
Evans and Dr. Evans wrapped up their first rally in Houston on April 24th, and were overwhelmed with all the support backing this program: "Traveling with my father, my hero, is an honor," remarked Evans. "I couldn't ask for a better scenario - it's amazing. The Houston rally was great, so I can't wait to once again be a part of what he is doing when we come to Washington D.C." Evans also entertained the crowd with songs from his latest CD, Letting Go.
Starting over ten years ago, the "National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative" program developed when a high school principal contacted Dr. Evans, the senior pastor at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, because the principal's school had trouble with gangs and other disruptive behavior. "Project Turn?Around," the social outreach program of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, sent some of their supporters to walk the halls of that school and order was soon restored. Today, now more than 65 schools participate in the Dallas-area program and President Bush has encouraged Dr. Evans to spread it around the country.
In addition to the rallies, Evans will join 21 other leading Christian artists to record the entirety of "The Message Remix Complete Audio Bible" by Eugene H. Peterson. Evans will be reading part of the Old Testament, while other artists participating include: Steven Curtis Chapman, Rebecca St. James, tobyMac, Steve Mason from Jars of Clay and more. The scheduled release date for "The Message Remix Complete Audio Bible" will be July 2006.
Currently wrapping up a tour with David Phelps, Evans will keep busy this summer singing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers game on June 21st, performing on Daystar Television as well as Good Morning Texas, and making various appearance with Dr. Evans; all following recent perormances on FamilyNet's "At Home Live!" and Crystal Cathedral's "Hour of Power."
